Lucie Hall - Biography.
I grew up in South Africa, and always led a very active lifestyle. If I wasn’t swimming, playing tennis, or figure skating, I was running outdoors or playing cricket.
That was 17 years ago, a time when food was my worst enemy, and I didn’t have the energy, nor the confidence, to work out. Now food is my best friend, and I can’t get enough of the gym.
People always asked me for advice on staying in shape. I knew not everyone was shaped the same, and what worked for me doesn’t work for others. So I took some courses and now I am BCRPA certified, and here I am helping others meet their goals to a healthier life style. I get great satisfaction in helping others. When they come to me and tell me they can fit into that old pair of jeans again, or climb a set of stairs without running out of breath, that is what makes my job all worth while! The smile of accomplishment and confidence on my clients' faces is my reward!
I took my fitness to another level to challenge myself in early 2007. I entered an all natural figure competition and placed 1st in Masters, and 2nd in Medium Tall open age, thanks to the help of my wonderful trainers Lara & Darren Toma. It was a fabulous experience and I walked away with so much more inner strength and general knowledge that I can pass onto my clients!
Then in November, I competed in the Sandra Wickam Fall Classic 2007, where I placed 1st in Figure Tall, and 3rd in the Figure Masters.
Currently I am not training for any upcoming shows due to personal reasons, and injuries. I have been diagnosed with degenerative discs L4 – S1, and 2 budging discs (L4 & 5) which also has let to arthritis. I continue to train for my well being and for the love o f the sport.
This has allowed me to focus more on my clients, and eventually inspire me more to overcome this obstacle and get up on stage again.
